The takeaway is clear: reviewing your notes isn't enough. You need to train under the real exam conditions: 90 minutes, negative marking in the test (−0.2 per wrong answer), answering at most 5 of the 8 questions and, in Matemáticas, with no calculator of any kind.

How it works

1

Take the free mock exam

Timed and with the real PCE marking scheme: +0.5 for a correct answer, −0.2 for a wrong one. Nothing to pay.

2

3

Practise without limits

Original PCE-style exercises with unlimited variations and step-by-step solutions. A single pass unlocks everything.

Choose your exam

Matemáticas

  • 90 minutes, bilingual Spanish–English wording
  • Test of 8 questions: you answer at most 5 (+0.5 / −0.2)
  • 3 long-answer problems (7.5 of the 10 points)
  • No calculator allowed — and showing your working counts: the answer alone earns no marks

Matemáticas Aplicadas (MACS)

  • 90 minutes, 4 blocks of 2.5 points
  • Test of 8 questions (+0.5 / −0.2) and competency-based problems
  • Basic calculator allowed, N(0,1) table included in the exam
  • Up to −1 point for expression and presentation

Heads-up: many blogs still describe the old MACS format. The above is the format from the official 2025-26 guides, in force for the PCE 2026.

A tool, not another academy

Online PCE academies cost between €65 and €130 a month per subject. They're great if you're after lessons with a teacher; but if what you need is to practise until you've mastered the format, paying a monthly fee makes little sense. PracticaPCE is your exercise gym: you pay for a pass once and train without limits.

What are the PCE?

The Pruebas de Competencias Específicas (PCE) are the exams run by UNEDasiss — the UNED service for international students — for access to Spanish universities. You pass an exam with a 5 out of 10, and your marks count towards your nota de admisión (the admission mark used to rank applicants). You can register for up to 6 subjects per exam session (convocatoria).

The wording of the Matemáticas and MACS exams is bilingual (Spanish and English), but you answer in Spanish — which is why here you train in the language of the exam. There are exam centres in Spain and abroad (Paris, Brussels, London…).

In 2026 there were two exam sessions: the ordinary one, with exams from 25 to 29 May in Spain (June at centres abroad), and the extraordinary September session, with exams from 2 to 8 September. The 2027 calendar is not out yet — we track what is known on the PCE exam dates 2027 page.

Studying in France or coming from an EU upper-secondary diploma? In your case the PCE are optional: they serve to raise your nota de admisión. There's a French version of the site.
