If you are applying to a Spanish university with a foreign diploma, sooner or later you will run into the word UNEDasiss. Here is what it is, what the accreditation covers, what the official fees are and where the PCE exams fit in — in plain English.

UNEDasiss is the service of UNED (Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia, Spain's national distance university) that manages access to Spanish universities for students with foreign qualifications. It is not a separate university: UNED is the university, and UNEDasiss is its international-access office. Through it you obtain the UNEDasiss accreditation — the document Spanish universities consult to process your admission — and you register for the PCE exams (Pruebas de Competencias Específicas), the subject exams that can raise your admission mark.
UNEDasiss ≠ PCE. UNEDasiss is the service and the accreditation; the PCE are specific exams you can include in that accreditation to improve your profile. They are different things, with different fees.
Who needs UNEDasiss? EU vs non-EU
What matters is which education system your diploma comes from. The framework is set by Spanish Royal Decree 534/2024. In broad terms:
EU diploma (or reciprocity agreement)
- You are exempt from the access exam.
- The PCE exams are optional: they raise your admission mark through subject weightings (up to +4 points, for a maximum of 14).
- Useful when you aim at degrees with high cut-off marks (medicine, engineering…).
Non-EU diploma
- The UNEDasiss accreditation is usually the way to certify your studies for admission.
- Depending on your country and target university, PCE subjects may be required or simply recommended to compete.
- Requirements vary case by case: always confirm yours on the official UNEDasiss website.
Do you have to pay UNEDasiss? The official fees
Yes — the UNEDasiss procedures have official fees. The accreditation costs €70 and is independent from the PCE subjects: paying the accreditation does not include sitting exams, and sitting the PCE does not include the accreditation. The official fees are non-refundable.

Exact figures can change from one academic year to the next, so check the current table on the official UNEDasiss website before paying. These are UNEDasiss fees, not PracticaPCE prices: what does not change is the logic — the accreditation is one fee, and each PCE subject another.
The PCE exams within UNEDasiss
The PCE are the subject exams run by UNEDasiss. You can sit up to 6 subjects per session, each is passed with a mark of 5 out of 10 or higher, and your marks feed into your admission mark through each university's weightings. The Matemáticas and MACS papers are bilingual (Spanish and English wording), but you answer in Spanish.
PCE Matemáticas
- The science and engineering track.
- 90 minutes, test with the +0.5/−0.2 marking scheme and 3 long-answer problems.
- No calculator allowed.

- Same test marking scheme, but a basic calculator is allowed.

PCE marks are valid for 3 academic years. For non-EU students, the UNEDasiss accreditation is valid for 2 years.
When are the PCE exam sessions?
In 2026 there were two sessions: the ordinary one, with registration from 18 February to 28 April and exams from 25 to 29 May in Spain (June abroad); and the extraordinary one, with registration from 1 to 22 July and exams from 2 to 8 September.
